Kilchoman 2007 Whisky.fr LMDW Review [From Paris with Love]

Hi everyone,

Remember when Kilchoman was a great young whisky?
Well it’s coming of age, with a few 10 year old single casks starting to creep out. The oldest I’d tasted so far was a fantastic 9 year old from 2007, so when I saw this, I jumped at the opportunity to try it.
This was bottled for the 20th anniversary of Whisky.fr, La Maison du Whisky’s online webshop.

Kilchoman 2007 Single Cask LMDW 56%
Colour: Light Gold
Body: Full
Nose: Much lighter and more ethereal than expected. Malty and mineral, kiwi fruit and crushed granite.
Taste: Full on, amazing fruit and mineral combo, stony, granite, lemon-y, seaweed, ginger.
Finish: Long length. More lemon with malty smoke staying and staying. Really long.
10 years old! A first for me from this great little distillery. There is a little woody harshness that comes through after more time with it though.
83/100

Thanks for reading!
