Deanston 18 Review [The Grand Old Duke of York]

Hi everyone,

Very quick review today. Deanston isn’t a distillery I’ve tried loads of. Just one, the 12yo. Which I didn’t particularly like.
Some of their offering looked good though, like the virgin oak stuff, and this 18, so decided to give it a try.

Deanston 18 46.8%
Colour: Dark Gold
Body: Medium/Full
Nose: Immediate pastry, slightly burnt pastry. Chocolate and heather.
Taste: Heather on arrival, quite spicy, chocolate, ginger, BITTER and a little earthy.
Finish: Long length. Quite harsh, woody and very spicy.
Not a style I like.
65/100

Thanks for reading!
