Rosebank 17 SMWS 25.49 Review [London has Fallen]

Hi everyone,

Recently there’s been a lot in the news about old, closed distilleries starting back up again. Along with the, perhaps more famous, Brora and Port Ellen, Rosebank will also be resuming production at some point.
That’ll be quite difficult seeing as the building were sold for redevelopment (although I’m guessing nothing came of it), then the mash tun and stills were stolen for the copper in 2009. Up for a challenge, Ian Macleod of Glengoyne and Tamdhu bought the trademark and remaining stock off Diageo.
Recently, I got my first chance to try a Rosebank, in the form of a customer bringing along a small sample to the show. Always great to get whisky from unexpected places!

Oh, and they used to use Worm Tub Condensers with their triple distillation…
Oh and apologies of the photo of a photo…

Rosebank 17 SMWS 25.49 56.1%
Colour: Gold
Body: Light/Medium
Nose: A little closed but floral and ethereal.
Taste: Lovely, nice balance. As described, the florals from the laundry and fizzy sweets.
Finish: Medium length. Some oak, more slightly fizzy sweets.
Would love to try some more Rosebank after trying this one. Lovely, lovely style that I haven’t really found anywhere else.
82/100

Thanks for reading!
